I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a health nut. There are times when I indulge in the occasional peanut butter cup (claiming the benefits of the protein – there are actually 3g of protein per cup) but for the most part, I am committed to leading a healthy life by eating right and exercising regularly. Recently, businesses have become more aware of the importance of promoting healthy living for employees. It’s an important step to ensure well-being, not only at work but in all areas of one’s life.
Sure, each one of us wants to eat healthy food, become more active, make better lifestyle choices. But the reality is that balancing family and work sometimes makes it difficult to make good lifestyle choices. It’s easy to drive through a fast-food restaurant without giving much thought to what you are putting in your body, but there are smart choices available. Cooking at home doesn’t have to be daunting and overwhelming. With dedication and creativity, there are other ways to get on track (or get back on the track) to a healthier you.
My blog posts will primarily focus on the relationship between healthy living and the workplace. I’m not a nutritionist or certified fitness professional; just someone who is in-tune with living a healthy, happy life. Keep checking back as my first blog will be ways of increasing flexibility with Office Yoga (with photos of my ever-enthusiastic co-workers demonstrating easy yet therapeutic yoga poses).
